Enroll Your Child Now for September 2024-25!

Although the first day of the 2024-2025 school year is months away, registration for kindergarten (as well as for new students in other grades) is already underway.  In order to register for kindergarten, the child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024. You may register at your neighborhood school between the hours of 9 AM & 3 PM on school days.

Parents will need to take the following documentation to register:

  • Proof of child’s age: birth or baptismal certificate or other religious documents, passport or immigration documents
  • Identification: Current Driver's License/Non-Driver's License; Federal, State or Municipal employment or Military ID; or passport
  • Proof of current address: parent’s driver’s license, non-driver’s ID, voter’s registration card or recent utility bill. (The document must contain the parent’s name and address).

For children entering the School District of Philadelphia for the first time, parents also should bring:

  • Proof that childhood immunizations are current (examples: a health passport or immunization summary sheet issued by a licensed health care provider or facility).
  • Copies of the child’s Individualized Education Plan (if applicable).

The Philadelphia School District website has been updated to include information for the 2024-2025 school year. Call 215-400-4000 if you have questions. Or check out their FAQ page.
